Often God sees in a person what others don’t. People preferred Saul over David. People preferred Barabbas over Jesus. Jesus heard a voice say “This is my beloved son with whom I am well pleased” (Mat. 3:17). Since Col. 3:1 reveals that our lives are hidden in Christ we can conclude that the Father is also well pleased with us. Hence, the gruntled God. If disgruntled means to be displeased and dissatisfied, then gruntled, an old English word, means to be pleased and satisfied.
