In-Person & Livestream 11am Sundays | In Hebrews 9:22 we read that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. By reading this passage out of context many Christians view the coming of Jesus in a very narrow way-that the only reason he came was to die for our sins. Further, they assume that his sacrifice was necessary to appease the wrath of God who endured disappointment in the disobedience of mankind. These false beliefs warrant clarification of the story of redemption.
The fact of the matter is that beyond his death and resurrection, Jesus accomplished at least six major goals. Furthermore, the Scriptures are full of evidence that God offers forgiveness independent of sacrifice. These Six are central to grasping the meaning of Easter as a monumental turning point in the finished work of Jesus on the cross.
