Christian Soldier or Passive Christian-Which?

In-Person & Livestream 11am Sundays

When Paul was under house arrest he was guarded by a Roman soldier who inspired him to record in Scripture the description of spiritual armor. The armor includes implements both of offense and defense as symbols of our spiritual walk. The concept pertains not to salvation. Rather it relates to our effectiveness in responding to our calling.Being a Christian soldier involves a proactive approach to or Christian calling. It involves training, courage and action. It can include a measure of hardship. Defensive aspects recognize the reality that enemies of the gospel are real and that spreading the gospel inevitably involves confronting resistance and obstacles. Offense aspects point to our power to take the initiative. Passive Christianity is very prevalent in our modern culture. It involves a bias toward the status quo in a risk-free environment.
