To be a neighbor with Jesus is to share in his light of compassion and kindness. It is to see others with the eyes of God’s love, the eyes of his compassion, the eyes of his kindness, the eyes of his righteousness and justice, the eyes of his mercy, the eyes of humans’ original design that is imaged in the eyes and life of Jesus. To neighbor with Jesus is to be the flavoring salt in our spheres of influence that outflows from our participation in Jesus’ life through his Spirit.
