God sets before us life and death. He implores us to choose life. The commandments of God declare his heart of love and his relational way of life. Obeying them leads to loving relationships. Yet we are unable to obey them perfectly. That’s where Jesus comes in. Jesus is our perfect obedience or response to God’s commandments. When we choose Jesus, we choose life.
