There is a story in John 11 that reminds us during times of crisis (such as now), whether they are national, community, family or individual crisis, who God is and how we are to understand God in the midst of our pain, fear, or uncertainty. Jesus is Lord not only in the midst of our pain, he wants us to know that he is still Lord even when we feel a matter is beyond hope or help. He is Lord not only over sickness, but also Lord over death. Jesus turns our waiting and weeping into joy because he is Lord over even the ultimate sacrifice – death! Let’s read parts of John 11 for this wonderful reassurance of the wisdom and love of God toward us.
